BRIEFLY Radio district seeks budget committee members

PENDLETON — The newly formed Umatilla Morrow Radio and Data District is seeking volunteers to serve on its budget committee.

Committee members will work with the district’s board of directors and District Administrator Shawn Halsey to create the budget for the fiscal year 2011-12. Those interested in serving must submit a letter of interest and resume to the board.

Voters in Umatilla and Morrow counties approved a small tax this past November to pay for the 450-megahertz radio system emergency responders will use after the Umatilla Chemical Depot closes late this year.
